Some 40 years after the original ending, possible solutions for how Charlie and his gang could have managed to keep the gold hit the press again! A huge competition was launched and the clip above from national News in Summer 2009 discusses how it could have been a different ending. It also shows how that many entries to the competition held to see who would solve the 'ending from 1969' were very plausible ...in fact some were very close to Michael Caines answer when he was interviewed as part of the coverage.
